In Harun Kemal Ozturk's article, he talks about the fall and rising of the hydroelectricity in Turkey. In 1300 B.C., Turkey had created a dam, but with no generator in it. At first, they did not know about the hydro power, eventually, they knew about it. In 1902, Turkey had built a hydroelectric dam, but it could not reach the needed electricity for the country, so they had decided to set it aside while they are trying to improve its capacity. They began to use organic energy like manure; then they started using coals, natural gas, and other sources of energy. After spending a huge amounts of money in buying energy resources, government decided to focus on hydroelectricity. They tried to improve the capability of hydro power and become one of the major resource in Turkey, (Ozturk, 2004). Hydroelectricity started to increase its capacity, and produced 11,588 MW, according in their last findings. Experts believe that hydro power will continue to increase its capacity in producing electricity and meeting the needs of the country.
