Is Coffee Good for You?

When I walked around the campus, I always see people drinking coffee every day. Some people drink coffee to keep them awake and some is they just want the taste of it. The concern is, is coffee good for you? My psychology teacher said that there is a possibility to lessen your fertility is you drink too much coffee. It could also raise your blood pressure, but not in a way of hypertension. However, coffee is good way of cleaning your body, it takes out the toxins of your body. Some experts say that coffee might protect people from diseases. Just keep in your mind that too much is always bad.

Tap Water Vs. Bottle Water

Which one is better tap water or bottle water? Some people says that they are the same and some people says they are different. From what I have heard, tap and bottle water are kind of the same. Bottle water is already cleaned and filtered, but some finding that some of them are contaminated. My suggestion is that you should just buy a popular brand of bottle water to make sure that they are already tested. You could also look at the nutrition facts to know something about what they have added. For the pro tap water, just to make sure boil the water, then refrigerate it. To make sure that all bacterias are dead. Some bacterias are living with hot temperature and some are living with cold temperature. Just to make sure do both of the procedure. Now, you can either drink tap or bottle water.

Bad Water?

What would you feel if you see an animal dead, where your water supply is close? At first I would feel sad for the animal and then I would feel sorry for myself. Thinking that the water that we are using is clean, when the truth is we do not know anything about it. Many diseases can be found in many places, and many diseases are cannot be seen with our own eyes. Water is a source of energy and to live, we need water. We would be fine if we do not eat for a couple of days and just drink water. Seeing this picture will make you feel unsafe in your environment. I am so curious, what happen to this creature, that he end up looking like that?

Annotated Bibliography "Decision-Making for Hydropower"

In Dr. Ute Collier's article, he talked about the decision-making when building a hydro power plants. He discussed the three things that the government should think about before building hydro power plants: the demands, the locations, and the flow of the hydroelectricity. Government has to serve the demands of the hydro power. Hydro power will not operate without dam, so the government has to have money, supply, and time. Building a dam will cost a lot of money and time. It will also need huge amounts of supplies to build large dams, and to make sure that it is stable to hold tremendous amounts of water. Experts are concerned about the location of dams. Experts were thinking if they would build dams on river schemes or on large storage reservoirs, (Collier, 2004). Government should also be concern about the flow of hydro power plants. Experts should think about the interference of hydro power in the needs of people and animals for water. If dams were to built in a place where it can reduce the water supply of other species, then it would not be effective for other people. Government should always think outside the box before they do anything that they think is right for their country.

Annotated Bibliography "The Fall and Rising of Hydropower in Turkey"

In Harun Kemal Ozturk's article, he talks about the fall and rising of the hydroelectricity in Turkey. In 1300 B.C., Turkey had created a dam, but with no generator in it. At first, they did not know about the hydro power, eventually, they knew about it. In 1902, Turkey had built a hydroelectric dam, but it could not reach the needed electricity for the country, so they had decided to set it aside while they are trying to improve its capacity. They began to use organic energy like manure; then they started using coals, natural gas, and other sources of energy. After spending a huge amounts of money in buying energy resources, government decided to focus on hydroelectricity. They tried to improve the capability of hydro power and become one of the major resource in Turkey, (Ozturk, 2004). Hydroelectricity started to increase its capacity, and produced 11,588 MW, according in their last findings. Experts believe that hydro power will continue to increase its capacity in producing electricity and meeting the needs of the country.

Annotated Bibliography "Is Hydropower is Better Than the Old Ones?"

In Mustafa Balat's article, she is describing the hydro power as becoming the important source of energy in today's life. After all the other major energy sources like coals and natural gas, hydro power is stated as "renewable energy source, (Balat, 2006). Hydro power is becoming the second to the largest energy source globally. Many countries are relying to the hydro power as the their main source of electricity. Hydro power industry is trying to improve their projects by stating that hydro power is less problematic than the older plants. Is hydro power is better than the old ones? Hydro power is design to control floods, to supply water and to meet the needs of people, (Balat, 2006). Experts said that hydro power is the most effective and the fastest improving renewable energy source.
